Historical places then and now

Hi Oscar,
Really like your pictures!
These to me convey a real "then and now" perspective of an actual place.
Love they way the pictures are incorporated and superimposed over each other in a totally correct to scale and angle in both photographs used.
Must be some kind of software system?
I am not very computer literate, but I wish I could produce images like these!
My first projects would be the Feldherrnhalle in Munich, the town centre of Minden, (my partners family live there) and the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
Have tried to do this type of image with an ordinary camera in Minden, cannot get the scale and angle right, with a hand held camera.
I think I am perhaps missing some new technology explanation for these (to me) excellent images.
Many thanks for showing, would like to see more.
Best wishes,
John.

They fail to show how a place looks today because large sections of the photos are superimposed with how it looked in the 1940s, blocking out how it looks now. This is only achieved by the full photo of how it looked in the 1940s and another one of how it looks today. Surely, the only way of making a proper comparison?
Max.
Thank You, Rob
