              Hello Hans,

I have no words, what an outstanding restoration and what a powerfull Car. I can imagine all the work and trouble to get parts for a restauration like this as Iam currently restorate a Opel Blitz 1 t. But that is nothing compared to this MB L 3000. I like your Projekt so much, you have thought on every detail.
I can only say what a GREAT Job and thanks for beware one more historical piece.

              Respectfully, Jens

Hi Jens, thank you for your very nice Reply on my thread, it was a hell of a job to restore the Mercedes-Benz L 3000 S SLG, but after the 3000 hours working on the car it becomes a piece of your self.
Wenn I drive the car and have the steering-wheel in my hands, I become the feeling of the hard work of all the Firemen, boys and women that drive the car at the fires in Giessen, Frankfurt, Kassel and Wetter....
The "einsatz" during the fires in this citys continiously for 36 hours without
any break for the crew or vehicles.
I have heard that the engine was working on full gas driving on the pump in the rear of the car, in those 36 hours!!!

I hope that the Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 Kfz 384 Luftwaffe tanker, the Einheits Diesel and the Mercedes-Benz 1500 A become the same final result after the restauration, we my wife Elisabeth and I go for it.
I wish you have the same good feeling wenn your working at your Opel Blitz, please show your lovely Opel on the forum , it would be nice, and a.... go for it

                              Hans,

Your posting about the restauration of your Mercedes 3000 fire-fighting vehicle has unfortunately being going down in the catacombs of a public forum.

An extraordinary restauration performance like yours should deserve a permanent place on the main page of the site, Sebastian should make room for ww2 vehicles.

Have you started the restauration on your 1500 LLG yet?
Have a look at this one: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

Hi Denis, Thank you very much for your frienly words, I think all the friends from the Wehrmacht-Awards deserve a permanent place with the Items they collect, but that is not possible!
Otherwise I believe that ww2 vehicles are interesting but there are many people to with no interest in it.
I am restaurating with Elisabeth the Mercedes-Benz 1500 A Kübelwagen first
(my thread about this car is also going down in the catacombs of the forum, there was no reaction on the article, a shame we loved this car very much ).
Thank you also for the link on E-Bay. Hans
