Because of the huge piles of rubble of destroyed buildings and bombcraters in the road surface, there was coused a lot of damage to the car, that was still set in for fire-fighting 20 years after the war.

Though the vehicles of the German Polizei were darkgreen shiny with black mud-gards, in 1942 the Wehrmachtgrey ( Nachtgrau Matt ) was prescribed for all new Fire-engines.
Allready in 1943 the vehicles were delivered in dark-yellow groundpaint as result of material scarcity.
After the war the Wehrmachtgrey made room for fire-red.
