Does anyone know the rank of this former Austrian WWI-soldier? The cufftitle says "Werkschutz", I believe...

Hello Peter,
Just to let you know that someone is reading your post.
I think he may be an Oberwachtmeister in the Werkschutzpolizei, under control of the OrPo and, ultimately, the SS.
I am not by any means an expert, and if one such is reading this I would be happy to be corrected.

Thank You, Kerry! I always thought he maybe was part of the Werkschutz of "Hermann Göring-Werke" in Upper Austria.
