    Ss post card

I picked this up about a week ago and I don't know to much about it. A half of a SS dog tag was in the lot to. The lot ended up costing me $45. I took a chance on the dog tag and it ended up being real. out of curiosity what is an estimated value of the card. And would it be worth removing the paper that is stuck to the back.

My advice would be to leave the card alone. It's not n the best condition in the first place and you risk doing more damage unless you are trained in paper conservation.

    Cheers,

The local art museum has a great conservation department is great. Sometimes I can get them to do stuff like this. We had a bunch of post cards that were sent from Italy that were in the same condition and they did a fabulous job. That was worth it to me because of the family connection.

I concur, in general, with the sentiments of Ramon in this situation. However, if you actually have a museum conservation department near you that will actually help you then that is less dangerous that you might damage worse your postcard.

But I see little additional value added for cleaning up the back. It is quite normal (and maybe even a good sign towards authenticity) to see remnants of old glues and photo album pages on the back.

It looks like there was nothing on the back to see (stamps /writing) anyway.
