Nazis in Washington DC circa 1933

Hi everyone,

I was going through some images in a 1934 NSDAP wall calendar that I have, and found this interesting circa 1933 photo of Nazis giving 'Heil' salute in Washington DC....
by the statue of American Revolutionary War General 'Von Steuben' (A German Citizen).

This is interesting to me, as I was born in DC about 2 1/2 decades later...ha!

Interesting that the image for the calendar page celebrating Hitler's 1934 birthday...features Ernst Röhm...who would not survive the summer.

Thanks for posting. The v. Steuben statue is in Lafayette Park, but that language is in english. Apparently, there were 3-4 copies made, one being in Potsdam, and the calender makers might have confused locations.

That is an excellent point! An American statue in DC wouldn't have the description in the German language. Good observation
