    "Totenkopf" Ostmedaille Document

    Here's another Waffen-SS 'Ostmedaille'
Award Document I recently added to my
collection. This is now number '69' of the
    100 documents-awards-packets I am
    working on as a collection.

    Ron.

I bought it from one of our guys....A 'collector'
who is living in Canada. Oh well, that's what
collecting is all about - (knowing your stuff)!

These have been around for many years......they originate from eastern Canada.

Amazed how many people ask who signed a document AFTER they buy it.

Faith is a good thing in religion.

But as far as most dealers and many selling militaria items, if you count on faith or integrity in their sales pitch you better give up.

As one dealer idolized my many on this forum once told me: "as long as THEY think it's real that's all that matters."

Most know a price, little more, including the "holy famous big dealers club."

And documents are, 90+% of the time, the easiest fakes to spot. Per prior post invest a couple hundred dollars in books that require you to r e a d.

Most junk has the wrong person, wrong rank, wrong unit, terminology, types, etc. due to the moron creating them being dumb as dirt. Just has a blank form (real or fake).

But all this probably a waste to say.

A thread last year on a document went on and on about water marks, paper type, etc. Not needed when the fake signature included his handwritten rank that the individual did not obtain until 2 years later..........

                    Forest for the trees, etc
