Looks like the 2nd volume, 4th printing. MK was originally printed in 2 volumes. I can't say if it's rare or not, but probably a bit more so than the later volumes that were published together in one book.

I think it's the second volume of a "Geschenkausgabe" ("gift edition"). This edition was in two volumes, and was made with linen and with linen and half leather bindings. It came with dust jackets; your DJ is in great shape! I have also seen them dated in 1937 and 1938; maybe in 1936 too. But as Hank said, this is only one of the two volumes.

Here's one from 1937 showing the half leather binding.

        Best,
        Greg

A beautiful set of books, Greg! While MK was originally published in two separate volumes, it was soon united into one volume, though special editions such as these books maintained the two-volume appearance, for the sake of tradition. The leather-trimmed boards are known as "Deluxe Bindings" today.

And I agree that the dust jackets make the deal! Cheers,

          Br. James

Very nice! I suggest you get two clear plastic dust jackets to place over the original dust jackets to preserve them. Perhaps a library can help you with that as they make them for their hard cover volumes. Usually dust jackets are long gone so you are very fortunate to have them present.
