Hallo Peter.

According to Tessin, Bd III, page 98, the Jaeger-Btl.8 was created on 1942, July 6. It was first a "Heerestruppe" fighting in Central Rusia (Weliki-Luki, Orel, Gomel)In July 1944 it was integrated as a 9th Coy to the G.R.509 (292.I.D.). One of your Award Document shows a Stamp from the Div.Füs.Btl.292, so it seems that this Bataillon was already fighting 1943 within the 292.I.D. (in german probably what you call a "unterstellte Einheit".

Thanks Lionel and Tom! I already knew about the missions of this man. He also saw a lot of action against partisans and lost a leg at the end (wound badge in silver).
