    Oberleutnant Pionier Group

    I just received this group through a trade with a fellow forum member.
    Oberleutnant Helmut Wolfgang Pohl
    Born: 13 September 1917
    Enlisted: 5 November 1937
    Active: 25 August 1939

    Served in Poland starting 6 September 1939 to 24 September 1939
    as a Radio Troop Leader
    Was sent to the West 10 October 1939 to 30 March 1940
    as a Radio Troop Leader
    Served in France from 26 August 1940 to 10 January 1941
    Server with Sturmboot Kdo 901 from 2 June 1941 to 29 July 1943

    He served in various Pionier units throughout the war.
    Served in Poland, France, Russia.
    Was punished twice for being caught multiple times being drunk in public in front of High ranking Officers. Twice placed on House Arrest. Each time he was caught other soldier had to carry him back home.

    -Infantry Assault Badge when he was with Gebirgs-Pionier-Battalion 82- 6.3.45
    -Iron Cross 1st Class with the same unit- 11.3.45
    -Iron Cross 2nd Class with Sturmboot Kdo 901 - 22.9.41
    -Wounded on 8.30.1941-Awarded 9.24.1941 with Sturmboot Kdo 901

    I cannot find good information on Sturmboot Kdo 901, If anyone could help that would be amazing.

        A very interesting group. Sturmboot-Kdo.901 served in Finnland, at least in 43-44. Geb.Pi.Btl.82 also served in Finland and Norway until the end of 44.
        Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
