pls help to identify a badge

Hello gents,

I recently got this picture, which was taken in Harka Hungary 1. apr. 1941 preparing for the Balkanfeldzug.
What do you think? what kind of badge is the soldier in the foreground wearing? (I marked it with thin red circle).

I'm also posting a picture from a similar angle, which was taken nowadays. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks, I would vote for the baltic cross now too! I didn't have any idea about the badge
