I just picked this up. There are around 162 letters and notes done on virtually a day by day frequency, so in effect a diary. A few pictures came with the grouping as well. The Panzer Assault badge has lost its head but is an Assman product. I haven't figured out the EKII yet.

Will definitely make for a great research project especially if and when you can determine, from the letters, when he transferred to 23. PD. There is a detailed division history in English called "To the Caucasus and the Austrian Alps...". It is interesting to see that the dates of the PAB and EK2 are relatively close. The division was involved in heavy combat in February 1944 in the Nikopol salient.
Nice group.
