I got this grouping together with a lot of photos and albums and I have got a few questions.Was this Unit part of the italian campain in 1944?I ask this,because between the albums was an album of the Italian campain.Can someone read the signatures under the documents?

He was awarded with the black woundbadge and EK 1 on the same date..

EK2 is Max Viebahn
EK1 is Karl Sachs

Quick & easy to find on LdW: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...onen/257ID.htm. As long as you have unit info (such as that on the EK docs), it's generally no problem to find out.

For the wound badge, it can be difficult once you get down to Battalion level, unless it's clearly readable (this one not so much) or it's a "well known" (RK, DKiG, etc) personality. Or there's somebody with a great knowledge of that particular unit.

A nice little group. Can you post a clearer picture of the wound date? It appears that he was wounded during Barbarossa's first week.
