I find this postcard very interesting and deserving of further study and examination by a BPP Expertizer. The stamps shown on this card were intended and sold to raise funds for equipping the Danish Legion. To find these used on a postcard and used for genuine mail would be highly unusual and very rare to say the least. If genuine, this card would be worth 2500 Euros or more. I fear this is not the case. i know that this stamp set has been reproduced.

The owner of this card would be well advised to submit this card and stamps for examination by have more than a passing knowledge of this feldpost area, I can tell you now that the feldpost cancels look very suspicious to me and I'm not comfortable is saying that this card is genuine.

If the OP is interested in pursuing expertization for this card, I can provided information on submitting this to the correct BPP expert.

For the OP and for the aficionados of this collecting area, I would love for this card, stamps, and cancels to be genuine.

    Cheers,

    Ramon

I continue to look at this postcard for it fascinates me. Looking at the font of the FELDPOST and printer's indicia it is a direct copy of the same found on the Churchill and Chamberlain Spottkarte or satiric cards that I collect. This is odd to me. I suggest using the forums search function to with the word -spottkarte-
to see my earlier posted thread for the satiric cards to see what I'm on about.

Also, for a registered piece of mail as this purports to be, there is no arrival cancel showing it arriving to its destination. This is not a good sign.

          Hi,

in my opinion, the postcard is "overpimped" in a very unrealistic way.
I'm not a specialist at all, but i will give some of what i think are red flags to me.

Too many strange things, including those already pointed out.
It reminds me of the fake french SS/LVF cards/letters we see from time to time on EBay and Delcampe...

Historically, the Danish Legion ("Freikorps Danmark") was disbanded in 1943 to be included in the "Nordland" division. The quality of the postcard seemed to be quite bad, strange for Danemark who is known for the good printing of the propaganda SS publications.

The stamps are similar to the one published by the LVF. Those can't be used in the normal postal system, and were of course useless on the Feldpost system. Of course you still can find them on real Feldpost letters/cards, but i don't see the goal to use those stamps in April 1945 when the Legion was already disbanded ?

The postcard was sent 2 weeks before the end of the war, by an SS to another SS. In the "Alpenfestung". Wow, and the letter arrived ?
I know that german administrations worked until the very last day, but i don't know if it was really possible for a feldpost to go from Danemark to the Alpenfestung in the last days of the war (and the modification of the address implies that the letter "arrived" at least somewhere in the South of Germany).

It would be interesting to check the NARA or the Moore archives to find the two SS and see if this is still possible to match them with the guys on the postcard.

          See You

          Vince

Sorry IMO the whole card is bogus. The card and stamps are repros. Right of the bat the Feldpost number 000647 is incorrect. The card is register on a military field mail. Official Register military labels were used on official combat units that had KENN three digit numbers. Card is dated April 20, 1945 this would be impossible to say the least. These Danish Legion stamps were never used only favor cancel. I mean I can go on and on you get my point.

              txs for critical replies!
              thats basic for discussion.

IMO following points are ... questionable

              a) both ss guys are not findable... (google)
              b) alpenfestung ... this was a secret name, not for offical use...
              c) 20.4. .... birthday of AH
