Bill, you know afte I scanned the photo I noticed the unit symbol on the back of the StuG. I had forgotten that it was there. I will need look at it closer under magnification, but it does seem to be the same. Funny how that worked out! If it is the same, then that goes a long way confirming this symbol as that of the 5. Lw.Felddivision. Very nice! And thanks again for sharing the great pics of the beach assault, commanding officers and the unit symbol.

Hi Bill, great pictures!!!! I saw the Mercedes-Benz bus photo (77) in one of my books "Waffen-Arsenal Special Band 23" page 17.

              Picture Text :

                Gareth,

Somehow I missed your request to use the photo on V. Foerster!! Please do use his pic on your Website. Did you want a better scan? Thanks for all your information and it definitely helped out. Bill

                Jason,

Thanks again for your comments and your input into the identification process. I know I should have done this long ago but when you have over 300 plus albums it's hard to do. I was always on the hunt and not focused on the research mode. Bill

                Hans,

Vielen Dank!! I have more photos of the bus and another Command car with a double rear axle that looks like it is a PKW 6X4 Mercedes Benz Typ G4. I will post some pics of it soon. - Bill

Hi Bill , The nice three axle car on your picture is a Skoda 903.

Produced for the German forces, 1941-43, by Skoda in Czechoslovakia.
Derived from the Skoda Superb 3000 4x2 car ( qv ), with six-seat command car bodywork similar to that of the Praga AV.
It has a 6-cyl. 80-bhp engine ( 3140 cc ) driving rear wheels via 4-speed gearbox and 2-speed transfer box.
Overall dimensions 5150x1800x1900 mm. Weight 2200 kg.

I give you also the Mercedes-Benz G4 Data:

                              It has a 8-cyl. 110-bph engine ( 5401 cc) driving rear wheels via 4-speed
                              gearbox and 2-speed transfer box.
Overall dimensions 5360x1870x1900 mm. Weight 3550 kg.
Built in the late 1930s , Earlier production had a smaller engine.

The Wehrmacht had 6-wheeled cars on Krupp, Praga, Skoda, Steyer and Tatra chassis, all with soft-top bodywork.

Can you post the other Bus photos also?
