    Mixed SS camouflage question.

I am sorry, I know very little about SS camouflage patterns. i am hoping that one of the more knowledgeable members can help with a couple of questions. First, is it common to see mixed patterns in use as here? And secondly, what are the patterns shown? I am not sure if there are two SS patterns, but the right hand element does not look like an SS zeltbahn.
    Thank you for looking,
    Kerry.

From left to right: ital. camo; oakleaf with platane overprint; oakleaf; and on the far right blurred edge

Thank you Gran Sasso, was this a normal mixture?
      Regards,
      Kerry.

Sure - soldiers were not running around to find comrades with matching zeltplanen to create a machting Zelt ;-)
Also, a complete Zelt made from just one type of camo destroyes the camo effect.

But its quite unusual to have a captured (and not modified) ital. camo zeltplane build in.

          Hi,

          interesting picture.

Can we "identify" the unit ?
It is known that the "LSSAH" and the "HJ" used italian camo, and maybe the "RSS".
Kerryboo you maybe have additional infos on this picture ?

          See You

Saw it on eBay. There was another one by the same seller, apparently from an SS Gebirgsjäger unit, not saying this is the same unit though. Still looking for Photos of the triangular german type Zeltbahn in Telo Mimetico-camo being used wartime.

            Regards
            Sonnenwende

Add Prinz Eugen and what else served in the mediterranean theatre. Also, a number of these zelts probably made it to other units than those that served in the MT via transfers and the alike.

              Cheers

Unfortunately there was nothing written on the back. This photo is outside my usual area of interest, I just found the assorted sections intriguing.
Thank you all for your input, it is indeed informative.
                  Best regards,
                  Kerry.

                    Gran Sasso and Sonnenwende,
From your posts I am guessing that this is not a triangular section. Did the buttons and buttonholes line up on the Italian square(?) sections? Sorry for my ignorance, as I said, not my strong suit.
                    Thank you for your comments,
                    Kerry.

Dont know, and from the foto it does not like like they are connected everywhere they should be. But I am sure they found a way to fix them.

                      Quick sketch:
