At the euphemism "euthanasia" referred to the murder of the disabled and the sick, the under church-Alsterdorfer institutions were involved in the "Third Reich". The Nazi racial hygiene found in the medical profession and the leadership convinced advocate. On the basis of the "Law for the Prevention of Genetically Diseased Offspring" from July 14, 1933 Alsterdorfer doctors took many forced sterilizations against people with disabilities.
Even later, the institutions set not protective against their patients, on the contrary: in 1938 they pushed 22 Jewish residents in other facilities from where they were later killed. At the arranged after the war started by Hitler "action mercy killing" they participated also active. Selected by the senior physician Dr. Kreyenberg, 1941 were initially 71 residents and deported to the heavy bombing raids on Hamburg. In August 1943, another 469 patients were deported to death camps. There were also transfers to the hospital Rothenburgsort where children victims of medical experiments were.
