    Civilian worker group

Here is a group photo of what I take to be civilian building workers of some sort. The ""uniforms" are a little on the fanciful side, I think any of these on the market today would be decried as total fakes. The tunics mostly looked to me like Kriegsmarine issue, but now I do not feel that they are. The breast pockets have an unusual bellows style to them and the dark collars do not look right. The one breast eagle is sewn over the top of the pocket flap, like the tropical tunic. The caps, Slovac I believe, have breast eagles sewn to most. Altogether a true mishmash of uniform items, but can somebody please shed some light onto whatever they are?
    Many thanks,
    Kerry.

The armband gives his rank/position as "Bauführer" - foreman.

"Bauführer" was a rank in the OT (Organsation Todt) - like a Lieutenant

Heer troops wearing reissued Czech tunics and caps, in my opinion. The guy with the armband may be OT.

Thank you Gerdan and CWP, but I think they look too old for recruits to the Heer in training, the only time I am aware that uniforms without insignia were openly worn. Maybe Volkssturm?

Why should a Volkssturm member wear a "Bauführer" armband?

I have no problem with the Baufuhrer, I was talking of the other characters.

Kerry..I don't think anyone mentioned that they were in training. Bau troops in many photos I've seen are much older and have skills in a variety of areas such as construction, masons, carpenters, metal workers, electricians, etc. they could be under the direction of the Army, OT, or Volksturm which explains the mishmash type of uniforms they are wearing typical of such organizations. Of course the armband only designates the leader of the group with out rank.

                      Thank you Bill.
Yes, that is a very reasonable explanation, but I was responding to the suggestion that they were Heer troops, and trying to understand what sort of troops they may be. As a collective of tradesmen it does make sense. The "uniforms" were what I found intriguing, I had no pre-conceived ideas, just that I thought that they were some sort of civilian, or paramilitary, work group, as you have confirmed.
Many thanks, it is very helpful to have guidance from those with much deeper knowledge.
