      I would be skeptical of any EK doc processed on Regiment level, especially at this stage of the war. Can you post a close-up the stamp? It appears to be a division stamp which is another red flag when everything else says regiment.

        That looks like some kind of Panzer Grenadier Division stamp, rather than a Panzer Division stamp. That wouldn't be correct for this time period.

        Definitely post a close-up when you can.

          I don´t know what you want to tell me but be assured that the doc is 100% genuine. I just wanted the signature confirmed.

            Hey - Just being super cautious with an unorthodox WSS citation, that's all. The signature does look good and if the stamp is like the one shown below, then that would be okay. Nevertheless, regiment level EK documents are quite extraordinarily and it pays to be skeptical when WSS citations have become very good in recent years. It is part of a group?

              The timeline doesn't exactly make sense. Wiking was an SS-Panzer Division from October 1943. SS-Panzer Regiment 5 was established in the spring of 1943, but the regimental headquarters wasn't active in the field until the spring of 1944.

              Note that it was SS-Panzer Regiment 5, and the division was 5. SS-Panzer Division "Wiking." It wasn't SS/Panzer Regiment 5, and the division stopped being SS-Panzergrenadier Division Wiking in the autumn of 1943. In theory, a stamp could have existed in the summer of 1943, during training and forming, that includes what is shown, but it should have the "-" instead of the "/."

              Fritz Darges was acting commander of SS-Panzer Regiment 5 starting on August 8, 1944 (the date on the document), so that part seems right.

              Ooops, now I see that the earlier post isn't the actual stamp. What does the document stamp say?

                It is good to be critical in this hobby but with that group i am 1000% sure. Just got it 2 days ago directly from the hands of the vet himself who is now 90 years old and as his only children passed away in an Motorcycle accident a few years ago he wanted to make sure his docs and awards would not end up in the trash when he is gone. I will meet him again on Monday as he is searching for photos now. Few stamps from the doc group i photographed for your "piece of mind".

                    The other doc above with the second stamp looks to be signed by Mühlenkamp.

                      Yes you are right. All the other docs are signed by Mühlenkamp. The Junkerschule docs are signed by Werner Dörffler-Schuband. But one more i have i am not sure who that is (pic1) I could ask the vet himself on monday but as we have such a great forum i can also ask here ((((-;

                          I have an Eduard Deisenhofer letter, and the Ostubaf. signature is his, I think.
