query about name mistakes

Im curious has having looked at this group on estand there are 3 different name spellings of the soldier
Gunter, Geunther and Gunther just seems strange are there any other cases like this

He is listed on the German Volksbund website under "Günther". It doesn´t matter if Guenter or Günther because "ue = ü.
