KC Studio Portraits - from one fighter pilot to another

Gents,

As I collect KC Studio Portraits I decided to dig up a few to share. Always interesting, I find, are Portraits dedicated by one fighter Pilot to another.

Here are a few examples together with some Information on the aces involved ...

Oberst Harry von BÜLOW - BOTHKAMP (KC) dedicated to
Major Hans -Assi- HAHN (KC+OL, 108 victories)

My comrade Oblt. Hahn in memory of shared action against France and England.
At the time of writing von Bülow departed as Kommodore of JG 2 in which Hahn was the StaffelKapitän of 4./II.

Oberst Hermann GRAF (RK+EL+SW+BR, 212 victories) dedicated to
Leutnant Hans DAMMERS (RK, 113+23 victories, KIA 17.3.1944)

My dearest Feldwebel Hans Dammers on the day of my 202nd and his 82nd victory, in Memory. In the field, 26.9.42.
At the time of writing Dammers served with 7./III./JG 52 and Graf was the Staffelkapitän of 9./III./JG 52. Graf had received the Brillianten, which he is wearing, 10 days before.

Oberstleutnant Friedrich-Karl MÜLLER (KC+EL, 140 victories, KIA 29.5.1944)
dedicated to Oblt Hans KORNATZ (DKiG, 36 victories)

My dearest Kornatz, in gratitude ... shared combat ... 19.II.1944.
I cannot read it exactly.
At the time of writing Müller just left I./JG 53 to command IV./JG 3. Kornatz served in Müller`s Gruppe in 2./I./JG 53.

Leutnant Friedrich WACHOWIAK (RK, 120-140 victories, KIA 16.7.1944)
dedicated to Hauptmann Alfred GRISLAWSKI (RK+EL, 133 victories)

To my old buddy Alfred Grislawski in memory of shared comabt in the East. November 1942.
At the time of writing Wachowiak served with 8./III./JG 52 and Grislawski with 9./III./JG 52.

I am one of the very few Lucky Guy who saw a little part of WJW Portrait Collection. Just an amazing one of a kind Collection !! Hope you show somebit more WJW !!

Concerning the Dedication from Mueller to Kornatz, here is what is written : "Meinem lieben Kornatz in dankbarkeit für seine nie erlahmenden Einsatzwillen. Italien, den 19.II.44".

Thanks for sharing ! Lionel.

Just had a Look in my LW-Foto collection..... But Dedication from a KC to another high decorated Pilot... It is so rare...... that my contribution will be weak I'm afraid... Here is one from Willi NOLLER (K.C. Apr.6th 44, 2./Stuka 2 "Immelmann") to "Meinen Kameraden Sepp".... "Sepp" was Josef Obertlick, german Cross by II./S.G.1.

Lionel, thank you for the compliment and your contribution to this post. Sure I will show some more. Since you like them rare ... how about this one.

Major Heinz-Wolfgang SCHNAUFER (RK+EL+SW+BR) dedicated to a fallen comrade and sent to the mother.

Interesting to see this photograph turn up here. Indeed, dedicated to the mother of Gerhard Dittmann. Sorry to say however that this photograph was once stolen out of the personal photo-album of Horst Diener, back then the Nachtjagd-contact in Germany.
Anyway, nice collection you have, and always interesting to see.
Cheers, Wim

Very nice. I have a special interest in Hans Dammers, having some of his personal effects,so the Graf dedication is awesome. J

1) First and foremost, I have never stolen anything in my entire life. I bought this photo from a dealer a few months ago.

2) I have sent a pm offering to return the photo free of charge if some acceptable proof of theft is supplied. The answer to this proposal was that the theft was 30 years ago and not relevant anymore.

3) As I enjoy the posts of others I feel duty bound to also post something once in a while. I feel I need to do this in spite of knowing that copies will appear on many other websites. But if this is not enough to discourage a collector from posting, then you get this kind of insinuations. It is enough to stop posting anything from a collection if you ask.

Hello Jacques

Thank you. Here is Dammers himself.

Another one ...

Dedicated by Hauptmann Rudolf BRAUN (KC) dedicated to a new Pilot in his Stuka Staffel.

In memory of your first combat flight on 2.4.1942 on the port of Tobruk.

Note: In know I put fighter Pilot in the beginning of the thread but I like this dedication to a novice Pilot so I added it to this post.

Weetje,

Gosh, I can not see what Wim did wrong with his post.

- He said "once stolen" he didn't say that you did it.
- You forget to mention that he told you that Horst Diener died years ago.
(seems to me a bit problematic to return the stolen photo to a man who
is no longer with us)
- Your number three sounds a bit weird.
Copying your photos while there is such a large part of the back placed
on the front image to protect copying.
Insinuations ? where ? and by whom ?
Stop posting ? only because Wim did mention that the photo was once
stolen.

What to do when you Weetje or Lionel let us know that material from your collection is stolen, and it shows up on a forum somewhere, what do you want then ? no reactions, no Emails or no PMs at all, the collectors community should not show any attention to it ?

There is nothing wrong with Wim's post here.
He did explain what happened with that Schnaufer photo to you.
But you returned with drums and drama.

Best regards

Eric-Jan Bakker
