Can't read the bumper number on that 2nd truck but it looks like the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division shared the same "Lorraine Cross" symbol as the U.S. 79th ID.

Yes I just noticed that the 3rd panzer gren. div. used this as well. Now I wonder which one these vehicles belong to.

Well, Mike, 3.Inf.div.(mot.) was renamed to 3.Pz.Gren.Div. in 1943. I recommend you to spend time in the very good www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de site.

May I ask you what is on the door of the second truck? The marking on the fender appears to me like a supply column Taktische Zeichen + "K2" (this K has nothing to do Kleist).

Akira, Thanks for the link. I had lost all my stored links when I had a computer meltdown and I am slowly rebuilding. As for the number on the door it is a 3. I am assuming since the truck in the fore ground has a 2 on the door the photographer may have been in #1. Thanks again Mike
