    Grüß Di' Peter,

Great photograph of Dietl and staff. It looks like it might be a Hungarian Femaru Model 1937 7.65mm pistol holster IMHO.

    Mit einem kameradschaftlichen Horrido,

    Patrick

              Hi,
I think that the holster is a Belgian made one for a Browning "High Power" , or Model 1935.

                    Bonjour Kerryboo,

You might be right....looks like the Belgian holster for the Browning "High Power" is very similar to the Hungarian Femaru holster.

Perhaps Peter can make a closer scan of the holster to see if there is the metal portion at the tip of the flap.

                    Horrido!

                      Bonsoir Patrick,
I had never seen that type of Femaru holster, so I "Googled" it. It is very similar, except, as you say, for the metal plate on the closure. I will be interested to see if the print can be enlarged, perhaps it can be confirmed which pistol is involved.
                      Many thanks for the contact,
                      Salut,
                      Kerry.

                        Bonsoir Kerry,

Just reading some material about both of these pistols. Seems that the High Power was issued primarily to w-ss. The Hungarian Pistole 37 (u) seems more likely since the Gebirgsjägers with Dietl up in Norway and Finland were Austrian units....the old Austro-Hungarian empire situation would be relevant.

Where in France are you from? My mother is from Metz.

                        Salut,

                        Patrick

all said but I thought about sharing some pictures of things which came out of Krakau´s private house. Enjoy!
