Could have been training for just about any where. They are US Army troops for sure, and I would say probably Europe theater. Tom

I agree that this appears to be a training exercise, given the casual posture of the participants. But from the missing shirts of some of the boat crewmen, it looks like the weather was very warm...not sure that was the situation in the South of England in April or May of 1944...?? This could have been taken at one of the staging grounds in the South Pacific.
