      Interesting photo. The soldier is wearing a reworked M-1917 helmet and the background is the Reichskriegsfahne. I would initially assume that this photo was taken -- at least the one of the soldier -- prior to the incorporation of the M-35 helmet within Das Heer, though I realize that the M-17 did convey a certain amount of 'tradition' when it was worn publicly, and the Nazis wanted to tap into that sense of tradition for all it was worth. Since the Reichskriegsfahne made its public debut at the Bendlerstraße Building (Wehrmacht Headquarters) in Berlin on November 7, 1935, that would indicate that this card was probably published in 1936.
