When I look at these photos I can´t let go of to reflect about what the civilians had to go through.

First picture no children visible, only two women.

I know the picture but never looked close enough to see these civilians. The whole scene must have looked very different from their perspective. One wonders what ever happend to them. On the other hand, how many of the guys behind the gun have lived to see the end of the war?

What has this Picture common with the 17.SS-Pz.Gren.Div. ?? This Div. only fought on the Westfront, and it seems evident to me that this Picture has been taken at the Ostfront.
As far as you seems convinced that these Civilians has been killed or at least in death danger, which is IMO pure speculation, checking your Sources and/or the Elements you are basing your Statements on, would be appreciated ! L.

Ahh, sorry about my misleading title .

The album shows a man who started in Wiking and then late in the war with the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division Götz von Berlichingen.

708 V.G.D.; you are absolutely correct, the photo shows a town in Russia. I stand corrected (did I mention any geographical direction?). If they were killed or not I have no clue and nothing I have insinuated. I never insinuated that they were in great danger, I guess you concluded that yourself (clever guy)?


I showed the photos because I felt touched about the situation the civilians had to go through in the war. Of course the women are not the targets but it must have been a stressful situation having a PAK cannon pointing in your direction in the same time as the children running around.

Because 708 V.G.D seems to be mr nice guy I will show some more photos from the album, enjoy!
