I hope I'm in the right part of the forum to ask this question. I am worried about the storage of my collection of award certificates and documents after I heard another collector saying that the acid content of plastic an paper can damage them over a long period of time.
I have my collection stored in Rexel CKP/A4 clear plastic envelopes which have a green plastic strip down the edge already punched to go in a folder. The documents are mounted on good quality white A4 paper using photo corners, so nothing sticky touches the original certificates.
Am I doing the right thing or will they be damaged by the plastic and paper. What is the best way ? Thanks.
