Hi, I have had these 3 framed certificates for many years so i though i would share them with the forum, all are to SS Unterscharfurher Wilhelm Tietjen of the Nachr Kompanie/ 2 Lett Frw Brigade. Any information about the man or unit would be greatly appreicated, cheers, Rick

Hi all, I'm researching this grouping for my ek1 database, anybody want to chip in as to the nachlass' authenticity?

These documents, especially the EK2 and Wound Badge, look totally fine to me. One would have to really be able to confirm the commander signatures on the WB and EK1 but I'm comfortable with the EK2 - its format and the Herzog signature. I don't know much about these SS units but this connection to AGN makes sense.

                    Hi,

there is a SS Unterscharfurher Wilhelm TIETJEN on the German war graves site: Could it be the same man?

                    https://www.volksbund.de/en/graebers...eca59a1fb6c739

                    Born Hollendorf 27 Nov 1922

Missing SEBESH, Russia 27 Feb 1944 (just East of Latvia)

His unit is given as H.V.Pl. San.Kp - which doesn't tally up with the Nachtrichten Kompanie on the EK1 certificate, however the 2 Lettish SS FW Brigade were in the rear area on the Northern Front. This may also account for the framing of the certificates if they were sent to the next of kin?

                    Cheers,
                    Rick
