    Erich Bärenfänger autographed photo

I got this photo of Erich Bärenfänger at the Frankfurt Flea Market one day when I was stationed in Germany between 1973 to 76 for about the equivalent of 30 cents. I scanned it about 2009, but in gray not RGB so the ink may not be the color it appears to be in the scan. Unfortunately I cannot re-scan it now, because I really have no idea where it has been stuck with all the different guys I had working here and packing and moving stuff.

As I have said before on the forum, I am not an autograph person and know nothing about them; however, I am wondering if it seems to be Erich Bärenfänger's signature......if anyone knows. I know he committed suicide in the latter part of the war. I am also wondering what value it might have if real.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I have only seen his sig. a couple times before. I will try to find the pic. of an EK2 doc. to see how they compare. Tom

I've had a couple, and still have an earlier one, it actually looks okay to me. His handwriting is, I find at least, rather distinct and bold, which makes him easier to identify.

          Thanks guys.

For the people who have sent me PMs.........as I said in my post above, I have no idea where the photo is at the present due to the packing and moving of stuff by the various people I have had working here on the room (which is not finished because they all walked out on me.....one wanted a "company car".....I am not a company just an old retired guy). Also, although I didn't mention it in the post (but have in many others, and in my profile) I haven't actively collected military since the late 70s and sold most of the things I had around 1985........I did keep some things though; however, I am not current on values and wouldn't know what value to put on it even if I would consider selling it. I do think though it would be quite a bit more than the one Mark (worth about 30 cents at the time) I paid for it. While I was born late at night......it wasn't last night.

I really have no desire to sell it at the moment, even if I could find it.

          Thanks,
          Ron
