isA quick glance at them would appear to say that they are genuine period cards. They are not rare. The SS marching card is the one I would need to see and hold in the hand for closer inspection as I have doubts about it.

Nr. 7 cards is part of an 8 card set and it is a genuine period card.

      Cheers Ramon

I bought the Nr 7 card, were they copies of originals ? What I mean to say is, this one would not have an original stamp on it ??

        Hello M,

The nr 7 card that you bought along with its other 7 brothers not offered in this lot were issued by the Reichspost with its preprinted postage stamp. They are NOT copies, but genuine issued items. To make things a bit more confusing is the fact that this set was also issued without the preprinted stamp so that the collectors of the day could buy their postage stamps and use the cards that way as well.

You might also be interested to know that this 8 card set was also issued with overprinted stamps using the names of Lothringen, Elsass, and Luxemburg so that the sets could be sold in those countries as well,

        Hope this helps.

        Cheers,

        Ramon
