Bandenkampf grouping to Honor Roll Clasp recipient (Hürtgenwald)

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to share some pictures of that interesting grouping and would be happy for your comments on the Bandenkampf document. Also on the EK1 one please. (Has anyone seen that unusual print before?)

Kortum was awarded the Honor Roll Clasp for bravery during the Hürtgenwald battle. He was awarded the Anti Partisan Badge for 28 days.

    Many thanks!
    Klaus

Looks like a great grouping. The one major problem with it - it's going to be out of my price range!

    best,
    Hank

        Thanks everyone!

Generalfeldmarschall Model argued for awarding the Knights Cross to him during the Hürtgenwald battle but he ended up with the Honor Roll Clasp.

Does anyone have an idea about how he qualified for the Bandenkampfabzeichen? Is someone familiar with his units?

        Thanks!
        Klaus

We need to see pages 4 & 7 of his Soldbuch.

              Hello Klaus,

Very interesting group of documents. The document Bandenkampf is signed by Köstring. For the unit indicated on this document, here is a very good summary : http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...tammRgt4-R.htm

              Cordial greetings.

                  Polux,
I didn't know the 4th was involved in Bandenkampf in France.

Completely correct Jeff but I think that this decoration was put back during a new affectation. It would be interesting to see the list of the previous incorporations. Cordial greetings.

                        Thanks for your interest everyone.
                        Here are all pictures!

The Honor Roll Clasp entry is clearly postwar. Im sure there was no time for a period time entry. The veteran must have done this (typically sloppy for someone who does not care as much as we do today).

A really stunning group Klaus! One of the best with BKA I've seen in last years.

hope in the future you will provide paper collectors big scans for your documents, especially for these rare and strange versions!
