knight cross NCO winner name please?

Got this photo in a large mixed lot of photos.
Nco with knights cross has #8 on shoulder strap, no other info on him.
anyone have an idea who he is or what unit he was in, thxs in advance joe

top photo shows him on shoulders of another man in his unit
bottom photo shows unit insgnia shoulder strap.

Can you make out the number in metal on the RKT's shoulder straps? Also an "8"? I would figure it's Artillery Regt. 8 based on color and the General Assault Badges being worn and it's 1942 or '43 based on the uniforms.

As far as I know the only KC awarded to an NCO in Art.Rgt. 8 was to Wilhelm Bürgel. It doesn't look very much like him.
