On manual-advance cameras, if you didn't advance the film after one photo, you'd take a photo in the same frame.

    OR

You can expose 2 pix on one piece of photo paper in a darkroom. Same effect.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Most of the Panther shots are from the late summer of 1943, when I./SS-Panzer Regiment 2 first went into action with the Panther Ausf D.

The Panther in post #8 is an Ausf A, probably seen in the south of France in the spring of 1944. It has the later-style cupola, which was probably not used by SS-Panzer Regiment 2 until its early 1944 rebuild. It is away from combat (cover on the muzzle brake) and is not camouflaged or otherwise protected against air attack, as it would have been in Normandy during the summer of 1944.

I have some Das Reich artifacts and would like more information on Das Reich. Any suggestions - books, articles, DVDs, Wikipedia?

            Hi!

            Very nice grouping!

The "photo in the photo" is a "Doppelbelichtung".

            Kind regards, Peter

                    Hello, dear members of WAF!

I'm working on a book dedicated to the I./SS-PzRgt 2 "Das Reich". I should be grateful and thankful to the buyer of the photos if he will share these wonderful scans for my future publication.

With many thanks in advance and best wishes,
                    Andrey Zubkov

Excellent photos. Looks like an army eagle on his hat.
