Two portrait photos - possible brothers

I would like to share two portrait pictures with you of soldiers who look so similar that they could be brothers. I got them from completely different sources. I hope you like them as much as I do!

Hi Ben,

I collect (amongst many other items) photographs of WW1 British soldiers.
I once bought a photograph of a Royal Artillery trooper sitting on a chair with a comrade standing beside him.
Several months later, from a source 70+ miles away, I bought a signed portrait photograph of the very same man!
The portrait photo appeared to have been taken (in Belgium) at the very same photo session as the other photograph.
Weird how what would be considered as "groupings" of items become split and sold on by different dealers in totally different locations.

Very interesting story relating to your photo finds John! I'll bet forum member Bill Petz, who so graciously shares thousands of his portrait photos here has a few stories relating to this subject! his "New photo Pickup's" thread is nearing a million views by the way!

Ben those are very nice photos, I really like the SS photo as it shows the fine points of the helmet decal and collar tab, the Luftwaffe portrait ain't too shabby either and I see the resemblance you see. I suppose we will never know? but they could certainly be related.
