Two great original antisemitic books, one with Wewelsburg stamp. Original stamp?

Hi, what are your thoughts about the rubber stamp on the book? It says: Bibliothek Wewelsburg. I saw some on the internet, but one slightly different to this one. Book looks original indeed. But stamp, if original, would increase the price of the book... What do you think? Thanks!

The stamp is a post-war fake. Nothing like the real thing.

Ouch. Thanks Max. And that book loses value or could be sold at the real value it has after that fake stamp being added? Cheap book?

Don't know this books' going price as I don't actively collect Eher Verlag: they published so many books as the official Nazi party publisher...but as you surmised, a collector would rather not have a fake stamp in it.

In the world of "normal" book collecting (not militaria book collecting) stamps and markings from any library actually lower book prices as a general rule.

            Hi,

it seemed that three variants of the Wewelsburg stamp exist, and i'm pretty sure that they are all fake.
            - your stamp
            - same stamp with with worse SS rune
            - similar stamp with the life rune instead of one of the two stars

An interesting topic was made on the warrelics message board too.

            See You

Yet another pathetic attempt at increasing the value of an item by adding a poor stamp mark. By doing so, all the seller does is ruin an otherwise perfectly fine original piece - shame about the book.

                Vince,
A genuine stamp did exist, but it's nothing like the ones you describe.
Suspicions should always arise with the use of runic symbols in stamps. Genuine versions never display over the top tacky symbols which are a product of the post-war misguided idea of the SS.
                Max.

                    Hi,

yes Max i'm not sure if i saw the real stamp, but it seemed i did. But i don't have it in my archives, maybe i should check HH archives.
Anyone can post the "good" one, or at least give some tips about it ?

Finally i found 4 (!) fake stamps. Max can you confirm that all are bogus ?
