Hello,
I'm a new member ! I am 41, married with 2 children.
I live in France, and I've got a passion for history, first WW and second one.
I wrote for my family, the history of my grand-father during the WW1, he was a french soldier.
But during a trip in Alsace 2 weeks ago, where all my family came from, I learnt the son of a cousin of my grand-father, has been a "malgré nous", and died in the east front, in january 1945.
He was born the 14/05/1925 in Steinbach, his name was Gérard WIRTZ.
I made many searches about him, and I know that his "feldpostnummer" was n° 56115B, and I could obtain the PDK paper: he died in Niewierszyn, and rest in the cimetery of Pulawy, in Polen.
Can you help me and say me where was localited his army, and into what army was-he integrated ?
Thank you very much.
