    certificate kvk2 Italian campaign?

    hello guys.

    to you it is so?
    thank you ...

Not sure what you mean as far as "Italian Campaign".

Here's the wiki info on the signer:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_Fretter-Pico

IF you read German, there's some info here on him and the unit this document references:

    http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...s/XXXKorps.htm

Near as I can tell, this doesn't have to do with Italy....but I could well be wrong. This is merely an attempt to shed some light on the signer of the document, and the portion of the war in which he was involved. I cannot intelligently discuss the recipient, the specific unit, nor the act/achievement for which it was awarded.

    best

The unit of "Oberbeschlagmeister Alfred Penndorf " was the

      D.V.K. 180 - Deutsches VerbindungKommando 180 I./Artillerie Regiment 1 and he served in Italy

because the D.V.K. 180 was a German liaison unit to Italien units.

The funktion of an "Oberbeschlagmeister" (Master Farrier) was to shoe horses in the rank of an

      Oberfeldwebel.

I'm re-posting this doc, since the original photo of the document is off-site hosted. That way, if it gets deleted from imagepix, people in the future will still see what doc we're talking about.

great information Gerdan! without you I would never identified the unit od Alfred Pendorf !!

In Italy Fetter-Pico was the comamnder of the 148th Infanterie Division who surrendered to the Brazilian ... (in the photos : General Otto Fretter Pico surrenders to the brazilian General Falconiere)
