This is a series that I just started watching. There is a clip of Hitler with SS troops during the invasion of Poland and he is wearing a sidearm. I don't ever recall seeing him wearing one before.

I could be wrong here Bernie but I think there was some kind of regulation that anyone at the front during an invasion had to be armed. Perhaps someone will know for sure.

Thank you florian_geyer72. That raising another question? Did Hitler ever tries or practicing the pistol apart from his WW1 experiences? I never read that Hitler even rehearsed itComment

He also carried a pistol during what he called " the early struggles" in fact the beer hall putsch started by him shooting a shot in the air and I think he actually shot at someone during one of his speeches during the Wiemar days and I believe he was shot at several times so I imagine he was pretty handy with a gun. Also what is interesting is there is a gold gun attributed to him at West Point that is pretty cool, I highly doubt he was carrying it in that pic but it's interesting to see it.Comment
