    yes - you are right.
I own that pic. It came out of an large estate. But the same one was for sale at ebay 2 weeks ago - and that former owner (veteran) descritped it:

Bogner, Ballhaus,Kirn - the leader of the 3. company in 1940.

So I did all that research on my own and it was already captioned somewhere else? Oh well. You had already identified Bogner, I recognised Kirn easily, but the guy in the middle took a bit longer. I have a photo of Ballhaus and his face matched the one in your photo. Anyway, it's good to have confirmation that it is him.

I saw that estate on Ebay – I actually won one of the photo lots myself – but I don't recall seeing that particular photo. Did you win any of the lots?

      All the best,
      Jason

Are you sure that is Nedtwig:
Johannes NEDTWIG is the numer 26. Here:

And another pic of him... als Generalmajor und in sowjetische Gefangenschaft (Kommandeur der 454. Sicherungs-Division, im Kessel von Brody).

Well done, Jaime. Been staring at "Hegburg" for years as the only Nedwig I was accustomed to was twice this size before he was captured.

                Cheers

I know the quality is not the best - but could it be that this is General Walter Krüger:
                    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_...BCger_(General)

The pic comes out of the PzRgt1 lot and was made in the early weeks of Barbarossa.

Nb. 6 (first post) is most likely OLt Wolf - leader Werkstatt-Kompanie (in 1941). On his right is Hptm Grothkarst (2) again.

                          No, he is Heinz GUDERIAN.

                          Cheers,

                          Jaime.

you could be right. Strange, because the 1. PD did not serve under Guderian in 1941.

Could that be General Walter Krüger. The pic was taken on the advance to Moskau 1941 (according to the description).

Not your familiar portrait of Krüger where he had a tendency of glaring into infinity all the time. But I would say it was him. he was a rtaher compact man.

                              Cheers

here is a comparison - the left one is for sure Krüger:
