I echo the comments made on the civilian ski jacket. I have one in my collection. I've been told that the style of this ski jacket may have influenced the development of the Panzer wrapper. My friend Jim Pool has one in his collection with evidence of having shoulder boards added to it. We both picked up ours while in Germany.

I'll jump in and also confirm that it's a civilian ski-jacket known as the "Wank" (mountain near Garmisch-Partenkirchen) style slalom ski jacket. I also have one of these in my collection.

Here is one image of the ski-jacket..basically it looks brand new and has inner elastic cuffs as you see on the right. Mine isn't exactly the same as in the portrait as there probably were several different styles of ski jackets.

In my opinion it is a civilian skiing jacket 9also what is worn with post 1). In 1934 the official skiing jacket for the HJ had two pleated breast pockets and was closed by cords at the hips and neck. As such it was fully described in the January 1934 uniform-regulation for the HJ. Later the jacket form changed slightly.

Heres my little contribution. Mine has provisions for Shoulder Boards. One tropical painted button was present when I got it. Whether it had military boards or HJ etc. I don't know. I have several pictures of soldiers wearing similar jackets, but in a garrison environment. No field pictures yet. Jim
