This almost seems a never ending story => on the date of 30.08.1942 he received also the eastern front medal ., this brave soldier earned himself in a time from about a little more then a year =>no less then 8 combat distinctions !!!!!! and it does not end here off coarse )

On the date of 20.10.1942 Wolkerstorfer receieved another Tank destruction badge for the destruction of a Russian T - 26 on the date of 23.09.1941 , this award was backdated more then a year !!!!!! ) making this his 11 th offical award .

On the date of 21.11.1942 he became entitled to wear the SS Honour ring or " Totenkopfring " => see the accompanying award document

award nr. 13 : the German cross in Gold

On the date of 09.04.1943 he received the German cross in Gold for displaying numerous acts of extreme bravery in the field .

Offcoarse this person did not stop earning himself some other awards and he receieves another 2 TDB on the date of 20.04.1943 => look at the superb award document for these 2 awards .

On the date of 20.05.1944 our brave SS Officer receives another award , this time a foreign award , the Croatian Order of the crown of King Zvonimir 3 e class .

award nr. 17 : wound badge gold grade

It seems that this soldier had much soldiers luck on his side and was still amongst the fighting troops in 1945 , he became wounded on 13.02.1945 for the sixt time !!!!!! and was awarded the wound badge in Gold for this .

bravery beyound doubt

For the good vieuwers they can see that Herr Wolkerstorfer is wearing a CCC ( Silver grade ) and a Panzer assault badge ins Silver , from these documents i have not received any scans zso far .

Herr Wolkerstorfer was also proposed for the Knights cross ( sse attached image ) but never receieved the award .

Counting the awards from Mr. Wolkerstorfer we come easely towards a total of 19 distinctions !!!!!!!!! ( i have counted towards the 17 listed ones => the CCC silver grade and the panzer assault badge , if he also did receieve the CCC Bronze grade we come towards astunning number of 20 awards !!! ) and IMHO he can easely stand besides numerous other highly decorated German Soldiers, more to follow soon and enjoy .

Thank you for the interest in this magnificent grouping and it is certainly a top piece (very lightly expressed ) for any collection !!!!

@ Tim : this is the info i have receieved so far , there wil be shown a few more itmes ( scans out of the Soldbuch, etc ... ) , our friend from who this excellent piece belongs to is on vacation for the moment so please be patient as it is possible that it takes quite some time untill more info comes available => anyway i wil keep you guys informed thats a promise

@ Eric : i have receieved some other scans from the Soldbuch, not all pages are scanned however => and for the above given reason ( vacation ) there wil be updates, etc .. but it can take some time, thanks for the understanding.

ccc towards Wolkerstorfer

Regarding the CCC towards our brave SS Officer => he was directly awarded the CCC in silver and therefore never receieved the bronze version , according towards the owner our brave SS Officer never receieve dthe award doc. for this award but the entry is made in the Soldbuch => see the attached scan of the Soldbuch with awards of the CCC Silver grade , etc ...

I place ads on all sites for document copies and photos to include in the series. Most replies I get however, are from historians. Collectors contribute little to research in general, normally only saying they had/have something after a book is out. Curious why that is, or just collector typical ?
