Award document for a "Kriegstechniker" - what rank was that?

Hello. Recently I ran into a citation for the Eastern Medal, awarded to a "Kriegstechniker".
    What rank was that?

Maybe more of a "job" than a "rank"?

According to http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wehrtechnik, it's somebody who uses their knowledge to adapt civil items/machineries to use during wartime. At least that's the best I can translate it.

As this is an Ostmedal document, there are a number of people who weren't necessarily soldiers who received them. Case in point, one was posted for a DRK schwester recently.

    best,
    Hank
Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Here another example of a "Kriegstechniker". Rudolf Hasse was a famous German racer. He ended KIA on the eastern front.

Thanks, Hank and Gerdan. He had at least a uniform. Perhaps someone can tell from the scan what kind of uniform it is.

Also see the "K" behind Kriegstechniker on the other award document. I have a citation grouping of a Propaganda Kompanie of a "Sonderführer (Z)" and fI found the following regarding the "Z":

Sonderführer (B) = Major oder Oberstleutnant
Sonderführer (K) = Hauptmann oder Rittmeister
        Sonderführer (Z) = Leutnant/Oberleutnant oder Zugführer

Perhaps it is the same with the Kriegstechniker.

          I see (page 21) he was a trained Waffenmeister, a Kfz.Unteroffizier and also "Wekstatt-Leiter ".

At the end of the war (!944/45) he was in Stuttgart: Kraftfahrzeugtruppen-Schule and

also Abteilungs - Kraftfahrzeug Offizier (K).

I Think it reads "Kfz Offz". Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense.
