    Two rare cufftitles in photos...

    Hello!

I was about to put these two photos on eStand, realizing that the SS-soldiers wear some seldom seen cufftitles... Personally, I have never seen them in private photos before...

    1) Are these SS-Pioneersturmbann and SS-Fallschirmjäger (although on the photo itself seems as the band says "Fallschirmjäger" only)?
    2) How rare are these?
    3) The SS-Fallschirmjäger photo was taken in Canada (POW camp) and is dated November 1943... Were there SS-Fallschirmjäger in action at that time?

    Thanks for the replies!

Agreed. It does not read "Fallschirmjäger"

                Thank you all!

There seems to be a consensus that it indeed says "Panzerjäger"... (I originally thought that some of the letters in "Fallschirmjäger" were distorted by the ridge in sleeve)... Has there been an official SS-Panzerjäger - cufftitle?

Any info or photos would be appreciated!

                    Mark,

Maybe he made the title himself while in the PW camp, bored soldiers with a lot of time on thier hands, they were trusted with needles and thread.

I am surprised you only noticed this just before you were about to sell them.

Agreed. Without a doubt it reads "Panzerjäger" not "Fallschirmjäger"

Now that is one heck of a rare photo!!

For me a Karstjäger cufftitle makes more sense.

I guess this member belonged tot the 24. Waffen-Gebirgs-Division der SS Karstjäger

                        Someone sharing this idea?

                        Cheers,
                        Oberst40

I had an SS vet tell me before how he and his buddies would cut the hem off black out curtains while he was a POW in England and embroider collar tabs which they used to barter with the guards.

                            regards,
