I like the signature. IMO this book once belonged to Himmler.
I don´t that he wrote autographs for his fans in a book.

Out of interest, on this date Himmler was on a hunting trip and then travelled to Berchtesgaden by his Sonderzug.
      Max.

Hmmm. had not even thought about the date as relevant...Thanks M.H.

Just my personal theorizing/musings on the information on the hunting trip:

Context: in case someone does not know: Himmler loved to give and get Books

a man like him might receive gifts anywhere from anyone-even hunting .

If he went to one of those upper-class hunting lodges and even surrounding towns, he might have gone book hunting at the shops catering to such clientele(after all this was originally a fairly expensive book for classic art lovers).

Such a book could fit in a hunting lodge area as Albrecht Durer was especially (and expressly) liked by National Socialist intelligentsia for his portrayal of the German Primeval forests.

A hunting trip might entail encroaching on to some German forests....

        Fun to muse.

Yeah... the signature is growing on me.

While I have seen some items that he may have signed for some "fans"....

Most likely it was his OWN book.

While he may not have had his personal secretary on the hunting trip(thanks M.H.) he seems to have usually had a few words as to a book being a gift to someone (or dedication) when giving a book as a gift (inscription written by a secretary) before writing his own name .
