In the SS Studio photo below, you can clearly see the top and bottom of the backdrop, the elevated standing stage and the metal rigging of the studio lighting equipment....

Something similar. Not a studio portrait but an outdoors portrait photo being taken. The photographer has displays of photos on boards for soldiers to pick through. Photo taken in Greece I think.

I have a similar one from Libya from a LW- DAK series of photos, the photos seem to be mounted on the side of an old style camera;
