Memellandes Document

Offered for sale by a known German dealer.

My german is a little rusty but appears to have been awarded to a customs officer.

Opinions please on this document.

Exactly, it was awarded to a Zollassistent - customs assistant.

Gallus-Wilpien must be the town or village where the customs post is or was?

You would think that not many Memel's were awarded to Customs Officials.

How many could there be?

Your "Memellandes" Award Document is perfectly okay!

The font is correct & the spelling of the words is correct. Meissner's printed signature
is where it's supposed to be on the document & is spelled correctly.

The "Memellandes" Document is the rarest of the 3 'Flower Wars' or, 'Phony Wars' & has
a very low number of issue.

Mine is the large size & named for a Kriegsmarine man & even carries the ship's name
that the sailor served on - vom Panzerschiff " Deutschland " signed 26. Oktober 1939
