If I remember right when I bought them they were from a pioneer grouping.
I picked up about 12 of these all combat related. The date on the back is July
of 42 and there is some writing in script. I'll have to post it and if someone can translate I believe it says where the location is. Thanks for the comments!

I'm sure it can be deciphered.

July 1942... perhaps Sevastopol? There's not too many places in summer 1942 where both sides shared the same trench.
