    Wehrmacht Oberst

    Hello,

I am planning to place several photos from the estate of Wehrmacht officer on e-Stand, but before I do so I wanted ask for assistance identifying him. Enclosed are photos from 1902 until 1944. I believe that his name could be Ziegler... Can anyone read any of the text? Find out his name and with whom he served during WWII?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Mark

First is a photo from 1902... (I believe)

There is big number of old CDVs, showing soldiers from 1902. These are the various dedications... Perhaps the CDVs belonged to the soldiers' father, as he would be much older if he were in already in military in 1902 through WWI and WWII. He does not look to me in his late 50's or early 60's in the photo from 1944... Anyway, here are the texts...

I think his first name is "Emil" and her name Tilly (his wife). The family name is "Ziegler".

                The text:

"Tilli und Emil noch von der Civiltrauung in Thiemers Garten 17.4.17"

Tilli and Emil before the civil marriage in Thiemers's garden 17.4.17"

Is that a 42 on his shoulderboards as oberstleutnant?

                    Dear Gerdan and Simon!

Thank you for your invaluable help. Indeed, I believe that the shoulder-boards for both Oberst and Oberstleutnant have "42" on them!

                    Here is a close up!

                    and of the medal bar...
