Whatever happened on that photo - the photo is inverted. The decal is on the wrong side.

This looks like it was taken at Narvik. I'm no expert on French uniforms but are these not Chasseurs Alpins?
Perhaps taken in June of 1940 as the allies withdrew from Narvik, a french soldier showing off his trophy to the British sailors?Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.Comment
