Bernhard Rogge: A Study of Signatures (Six for your Opinions)

Esteemed Colleagues:

A study of 21 signatures from Rogge for comparision and I ask for your opinions on the other six within the yellow boxes.

I think they are bad fakes, but I want to be absolutely sure before I destroy them.

Hmmmm. I am really thinking these 6 signatures are fakes, made to sell as originals, and I think I was "taken" by the sellers.

At this point I am not really convinced enough though...so I won't destroy the photos, but will also not add them into my Hilfskreuzer Archive either. So into the "extras" box for storage for now.

If you do have an opinion about these six signatures, I would surely like to hear what you think.

Thank you for starting this fine thread.


Compared to the other ones at the left, those six at the right don't look good to me, but what when they were signed post war by the man ?


Know that Fehler's signature (we talked about that one) did totally change after the war.


And what to think of Hans-Georg Hess of U 995, his wartime signature and post war signature did for many years look the same, and when he became ill - the signatures from the last years of his life were completely different, as if someone else tried to write that signature.


I have seen KC signatures from before and after they were diagnosed with Parkinson disease.


But when these six Rogger signatures are offered as war time pieces - I would say no, not good / no original ones.

Just my humble opinion.
